Film review "At a height" and "A meter apart";

At the height

Science fiction is not going through the best of times, especially when it comes to wide distribution. Perhaps, the appearance of the film "High Life" by a French director and screenwriter.

So, the spaceship "7" is heading towards the black hole - its speed is approaching light, but the passengers do not experience acceleration - everything seems to be static for them. The team is made up of criminals who face the death penalty or life imprisonment... The nominal head is Dr. Dibs, in addition to his obsession to grow up in conditions of radiation, acceleration, and space...a girl, and Willow becomes the result of her experiments. And her "father" unwittingly becomes Monty, a young man who was against using himself in experiments.

In general, there are enough tapes about space travel, both original and just clones. "On High" can claim originality by using a demonstration technique - high-tech reality in archaic and ascetic decorations... Just as the ship slows down time by design, so the tape looks "stretched", "slow", this is a competition of the ship's inhabitants in a confrontation in which there can be no victory. The author also asks a lot of questions.: How can faith exist without its object and symbols? Is the experiment just a scientific or pragmatic experience, or sometimes a tool of punishment, or just the immense curiosity of humanity? Or what is the meaning of procreation?

The actors' performance. This is a "duel" between the main characters - Dr. Dibs, played by Juliette Binoche, and Monte, embodied by Robert Pattinson. For the former, the meaning of existence lies in experiment, the latter seeks meaning first in survival, and then in the involuntary duty of fatherhood. In general, the supporting actors had to make an effort to convey the feeling of the existence of "mice in a cage."

Regarding the conclusion. "On High" is pure art in pure science fiction. Just as the authors free themselves from the tinsel of decorations, so the authors dissect human feelings. I think the film is interesting for its exoticism, it will suit the taste of "anti-aesthetes", but if you want entertainment or easy relaxation, this is not your movie.

One meter apart from each other

To begin with, I have not read the book "Five Feet Apart", on which this film is based. I was intrigued by the trailer and had high hopes for this movie, mainly due to my love of romantic stories.

Although this film is positioned as a romantic film, it also highlights the topic of the disease very well, informing the audience about cystic fibrosis. By the time I saw the movie, I didn't know anything about this disease. The film tells about the disease using the example of a beautiful character, Stella, played by actress Haley Lou Richardson.

The movie is just wonderful! Sometimes it makes you laugh or cry, but generally it makes you smile easily throughout the entire viewing.

I think this movie will be a real breakthrough for actress Haley Lou Richardson. She coped with this role 100%. I would also like to mention the excellent performance of the actor who played the main male role, Cole Sprouse. They have great chemistry together for this romantic story. To avoid spoilers, I just want to say that there are many emotional and deep scenes in the film that you should enjoy. This movie hooked me from the first minute and I couldn't look away from the screen until the last second. I definitely recommend the movie "Within a meter of each other" to those who want to see a beautiful romantic story or just enjoy a good movie.
